Big Zach of Kanser was walking around New Hope Minnesota one day. He bumped into BIg Jess of the Unknown Prophets. Big jess was like " yo Z what are you doing around here?" Zach was like " ummm, I'm looking for Mesh" ////
as soon as he said that, Mesh rolled up in his KIA doing about 100mph. Jess was like " yo, I live right around the corner" So they hit the studio. A few Hours later UnicusHarry received a text from Z.////
It said " yo i'm with Mesh and Jess, we're gonna make a Kanser+Unknown Prophets album and put out before the summer is over" Unicus was like "word" He's already been working with Madson on a different project so he was super down to make music with the UPs. ////
For about a month and some change, Jess sent beats back and forth and everyone started writing verses.
recording almost everyday the five emcees found themselves with 12 songs. They invited some other collaborators like Dalia the super fresh folk singer /graphic artist and Natalie Fine of More Than Lights fame. ///
Feeling like the album wasn't quite there Unicus suggested to add scratches to a few songs. Z was apprehensive and challenged U to a thumb war. Fortunately U won , and Willy Lose laid some fresh cuts. Once all the music was laid out and all 5 felt good about what they created. They reached out to Inkproof an ol' friend and collaborator of both groups. /////
They explained they wanted to call their new project revive but wanted to spell it with a "5" like "re5Ve" Ink was like
" that's weird, but okay pay me" lol. He came with the fresh logo/cover. /////
Now it's Thursday July 22nd and the fellas are anxiously waiting for the drop of their new release RE5VE on 7-23-21 Minnesota stand up for these Twin Cities veterans of the mic and celebrate a new beginning. - re5ve
